"Machete' star, actor Danny Trejo, saved the day in real life Wednesday when he helped to rescue a male child trapped in an overturned car in Sylmar.

The scarred-face actor, known for his many roles in Robert Rodriguez's films, happened upon the scene of two cars in the area of Hubbard Street and Jackman Avenue. One of the cars was flipped onto its roof, and a boy was trapped inside, fastened into its car seat.

According to a witness, the "Desperado" actor climbed into one side of the overturned car but wasn't able to unbuckle the child. A woman bystander was able to crawl into the other side of the car and Trejo was able to grab the child to safety.

"Pay attention," Trejo told ABC news.  Adding that the "only thing that saved that little kid was his car seat, honest to God."

The Los Angeles Fire Department says three people were transported to the a hospital without any life-threatening injuries.
