Demi Lovato and fiancé Max Ehrich have called it quits.

The duo have ended their relationship after getting engaged two months ago, sources confirmed to People and TMZ.

"It was a tough decision, but Demi and Max have decided to go their separate ways to focus on their respective careers," the source told People. "They have respect and love for one another and will always cherish the time they spent together."

Back in July, the “Cool for the Summer” singer revealed the “Young and the Restless” actor had popped the question during a romantic evening in Malibu.

"I knew I loved you the moment I met you," Lovato captioned several pics embracing Ehrich on the beach. "It was something I can’t describe to anyone who hasn’t experienced it firsthand but luckily you did too.. I’ve never felt so unconditionally loved by someone in my life (other than my parents) flaws and all."

In total, the couple’s romance lasted about six months as they first started dating in March.

While it’s unclear what caused the demise of their relationship, earlier this month everything appeared to be on the up and up as they celebrated their six month anniversary.

"Happy 6 months to my darling, the best father these pups could ever ask for. I love you BEYOND. Thank you for making my life so much better @maxehrich I love you baby," Lovato wrote on Instagram Story, according to Entertainment Tonight.

On Wednesday, Lovato took part in RADIO.COM’s I’m Listening broadcast to empower listeners to have open conversations around mental health

"It's really important for me to stay positive and centered,” the 28-year-old said. “It's just important that we keep a positive headspace."
