Everyone: Meet Kid Sister; some people know her as Kanye West’s protégé, but I heard about her when she came out to Echo Park a few months ago.
Kanye West has been trying to keep out of the media since his tainted Taylor Swift VMA’s speech interruption, but he took to his web site instead to spread the news “I’M SO HAPPY TO BE BACK IN THE STUDIO MAKING NEW MUSIC.”

In his blog, he compares himself to great basketball player, Kobe, “I WILL BRING YOU THE BEST I HAVE TO OFFER WITH THE SAME DEDICATION THAT KOBE HAS ON THE COURT.
2009 was a great year for pop music, now that we’re saying good bye to it, some awesomely interesting mashups are hitting the internet and “United State of Pop 2009 (Blame It on the Pop)” is the best mix we’ve heard yet. DJ Earworm has taken the top 25 Billboard hits of 2009 and combined them into a super song.

In one of the most awkward pairings of the year, Taylor Swift and Kanye West have been named Billboard’s Female and Male Artist of 2009. Earlier this year, at the MTV Video Music Awards, Kayne interrupted Taylor as she was on stage receiving her award for Best Female Video. And event that helped catapult Taylor’s name to a wider audience and finally silence Kayne West.

Beyonce Knowles, perhaps the other victim of Kanye West’s MTV Video Music Awards outburst, has finally spoken up about the incident. Poised and graceful in her comments, Beyonce reveals that before the winner was announced, Kanye told her there was no way she could lose. And then she did.

What happened after that was merely the unraveling of a devoted friend with good intentions and poor execution. Beyonce finally addressed the issue while attending the Billboard magazine’s annual Women in Music event saying:
Well, I knew his intentions, and I knew he was standing up for art; and he told me before, when they said the nominees, he’s like, ‘You have this award.’ And when they didn’t call my name he was, like, completely shocked. And when he walked on the stage, I was like, ‘No, no, no!’ and then he spoke, and I was like, ‘Oh, no, no, no!’ But in the end, it ended up being a great night, and Taylor Swift did get her moment — and I didn’t have to make an acceptance speech.
Beyonce continues to be such a star in light of the situation, handling it with poise and grace. She could have condemned her friend, but she simply stated the most basic of facts, Kanye West felt very powerfully about the award and suffered from a lack of judgment when he went up on stage. In his effort to defend Beyonce he forced himself to look like the Big Bad Wolf, attacking innocent Taylor Swift.
What do you think about Beyonce’s statement? Should she have admonished Kanye like everyone else or was she more professional for sticking with the middle ground and stating the facts of the evening? Let us know in the comments!
