Lady Gaga has blown up the charts over the past year with number one hits, but at the same time she is making Akon a very rich man. Lady Gaga was first signed to a record label and then dropped which is a sad moment for any artist. Lets just, sometimes things happen for a reason. That poor label that dropped her… their loss and Akon’s gain. Akon took a chance and singed Lady Gaga to his KonLive music imprint. It was an excellent move, one that Akon says has made him a very rich man. Gaga has made him enough money that he can retire, he tells Associated Press.

She’s pretty much retired me… She was definitely a blessing. She came at the right moment. I’m glad I believed in her, boy. That goes to show you, if you believe in something strong enough, it will pay off.
