The Voice is back and it’s got a whole new look!

Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys have joined the crew for season 11. It’s the first time two women have served on the coaching panel since the show debuted in 2011.

“They are incredible additions to the show,” Carson Daly said earlier this morning on 97.1 AMP Radio. “Bringing in a young, excited Miley Cyrus was a good idea because she just brings in a whole new sort of fresh thing to it, a sense of excitement, a breath of fresh air. And then Alicia Keys, who is incredible.”

“You can live and die by how you change out your panel on a show like this, but The Voice in particular has done well because we’ve had so many people come and go,” he continued. “We’ve just picked really, really good people. The intentions of the show are such where we’re so trying to mentor and help these artists, that there’s just not a lot of room for a ton of infighting.”

But enough about the coaches! The Voice is all about the artists and even though we’re just one day into the new season, we’re already blown away by the talent.

Take a listen to what Carson had to say about Monday’s blind auditions.

The Voice blind auditions continue tonight at 8pm on NBC.
