This weekend, Producer Angie will be making a 39-mile trek through Santa Barbara to support the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.
For the past several months, she’s been raising money for the event, which will go towards research, awareness, and education, in addition to providing assistance to those currently suffering from breast cancer.
Since 2003, Avon 39 participants have logged nearly 6.9 million miles and brought in $550 million in funds dedicated towards ending breast cancer forever.
Here’s Producer Angie in her own words about why she was moved to support this cause.
Unfortunately, in our lifetime, we will all be touched by breast cancer…whether it’s a family member, a friend, a co-worker or you personally. Look at these facts…
• A woman living in the U.S. has a 1 in 8 chance of developing breast cancer in her lifetime
• A new case of breast cancer is diagnosed every 3 minutes.
• No one knows what causes breast cancer…or how it can be prevented and there is no known cure
Here’s the thing…I’m not ok with this. I’m not ok with this happening to a friend…I’m not ok with it happening to a family member…I’m not ok with it happening to stranger…and I’m not ok with it happening to me.
So, I’m doing my small part. This September I will be walking nearly 39 miles, over the course of a weekend, as a participant in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer event. I am honored to be walking with thousands of others who have made the same commitment: to help raise awareness and funding for this devastating disease.
I’ve committed to raising at least $1,800 for this event. That’s just 18 friends donating $100, 90 friends giving $20 or 180 friends giving just $10 bucks. Whatever you can give, I’ll take it with sincere gratitude because every donation matters.
The Avon Foundation, awarding funds the money raised from these events to help advance medical research into the possible causes, prevention, treatment and cure of breast cancer; medical care for breast cancer patients; support services for patients and their families; educational seminars; and early detection programs.
You can make a donation online by visiting my webpage at http://bndfr.com/5cppm. The funds go directly to the Avon Foundation where they will be put to very good use.
Here’s what you need to know…your donation will benefit the whole picture – cause, cure, care and support. There is no donation too small. Every little bit helps.
Thank you so much for your support.
