Danish lifestyle brand AVEConcept recently polled 2,000 Americans about their dating habits and they discovered an incredibly detailed timeline of when couples go through important milestones.

According to their research, it takes an average of:

  • Five dates before a new couple hooks up
  • Eight weeks to start calling your partner your ‘boyfriend’ or ‘girlfriend’
  • Four months before introducing your partner to your family
  • Nearly six months until it’s kosher to ask about their credit score
  • About two years until it’s time to start considering getting engaged
