Defensive end William Hayes was pretty darn excited when the Rams announced they were moving from St. Louis to Los Angeles.

Why? Well, it wasn’t because of In-N-Out. Nope…it’s because the relocation is putting him within mere miles of mermaids.

Hayes is adamant mermaids exist in real life. It’s a topic explored on a recent episode of HBO’s Hard Knocks.

“We find different species in the water every single day,” he told one of his teammates.

Hayes may believe Ariel is out there somewhere, but he isn’t so convinced that dinosaurs once walked the earth.

“Man has never seen a dinosaur, we can agree on that, right? But we know exactly how to put these bones together?” he told ESPN. “I believe there is more of a chance you will find a mermaid than you will a dinosaur because we find different species in the water all the time.

He even once claimed that “archaeologists place bones underground like a parent would place Easter eggs.”

Hard Knocks airs Tuesdays at 10pm on HBO.
