Steve Harvey has finally gotten his chance to formally apologize to Miss Colombia, several weeks after he incorrectly announced her winner of the Miss Universe pageant.

The TV host invited Ariadna Gutiérrez to his daytime talk show to discuss the embarrassing moment during Part 1 of his Miss Universe special.

“You have to learn how to read cards, because it was on the card!” Ariadna Gutiérrez teased. “You wanted me to win.”

“Yeah, that’s it! I wanted you to win. I’m off the hook now, that’s it. I can leave it at that,” Harvey played along.

But Monday’s episode wasn’t all about the laughs. The show took a serious tone when Harvey touched upon how his loved ones have been affected by his mistake.

“My family got death threats, I have people camped outside my house,” he explained, “My kids can’t go anywhere.”

“I’ve had many sleepless nights,” Harvey continued. “My deeper concern was for the two women.”

Gutiérrez also shut down rumors that she was planning to file a lawsuit against Harvey.

“No, no, no. I never thought of suing. That’s not me. That’s not who I am, but a lot of lawyers wanted me to do that.”
