HBO has announced a new documentary focusing on the history and culture of Latin American music in the U.S.

Called The Latin Explosion: A New America, the film will feature interviews and clips from some of music’s biggest stars, including ShakiraPitbullJennifer LopezRicky Martin, Marc Anthony, and Gloria Estefan.

According to Rolling Stone, the film will chronicle the rise of Latin music in America through the decades, from Desi Arnaz and Carlos Santana to present day. The film is directed and produced by Matthew O’Neill and Jon Alpert.

And music stars won’t be the only ones interviewed for the film, with the likes of George Lopez, Eva Longoria, Cheech Marin, and Sofía Vergara also appearing.

The film is set to debut on both HBO and HBO Latino.

“We have assembled the largest array of Latino superstars ever in a film telling a powerful story of their history and immigration, politics, and rise from a small minority population to the most critical demographic in the United States,” executive producer Tommy Mottola said in a statement, adding that he believes that Latin American’s influence in our country’s politics will only get stronger.
