Jamie Foxx Sure Does a Good John Legend Impression, But His Jennifer Hudson May Be Even Better

By Shannon Carlin

No need to blame this on the alcohol, Jamie Foxx nailed his sobering impression of John Legend.

With one spin of the Wheel of Musical Impressions on last night’s (May 19) Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Foxx was asked to do his best version of Legend, but with a twist. He would not be singing “All of Me” or “Glory,” but instead the Toys R’ Us jingle.

Foxx’s version of the earworm—go ahead to 2:43 to see his take—is a soulful, piano-filled ode to the millions of toys the chain store has for you to play with.

Foxx later showed off his Mick Jagger impression singing The Lion King‘s “Hakuna Matata,” which was less singing and more strutting. We were pretty impressed by his Jennifer Hudson singing “On Top of Spaghetti” that was very Dreamgirls. Seriously, the loss of a meatball never sounded so empowering.
