If you haven’t heard about the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge yet, you may literally be living under a rock.
It’s a campaign that went viral that has helped raise over $20 million for the ALS Association, helping to raise funds to find a cure for Lou Gehrig’s disease.
If you aren’t familiar with what that is, ALSA.org describes it as “a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death.” Learn more about the disease here.
So you can see why people from all over the world, A-list celebs included have joined the cause.
So what have people been doing? They’re dumping buckets of ice over their heads, and challenging friends to do the same, with the addition of a donation to the foundation.
Here is McCabe’s video, challenging AMP Radio DJ Seena (amongst others) to the challenge.
