With Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat, it’s hard to keep kids’ attention for more than five minutes these days.

But one mom totally used that to her advantage to punish her 18-year-old kid.

Cindy Bjerke of Fargo sold her daughter’s Katy Perry tickets on Facebook after an undisclosed family dispute.

She put the tickets up for grabs on the Fargo/Moorhead Online Garage Sale page, a private group.

“Daughter is a spoiled brat and doesn’t deserve these tickets,” Bjerke wrote. “For sale, 2 Katy Perry tickets for August 23rd in Fargo. Section 50, Row G, Seats 3&4. Paid $110, will take $90.”

The post quickly racked up 200 likes and the tickets sold within five minutes, however, some are criticizing Bjerke’s punishment. The post has since been removed from the page, but other parents believe the family matter should have been privately handled.

Bjerke defended her decision to local news station WDAZ: “I think a lot of parents are like me where they feel like they’re being bullied about how they should parent their own children. It doesn’t matter what side you’re on, you’re always wrong to somebody.”

Did the 18-year-old, who wasn’t identified by name, deserve to be publicly humiliated? Carson and Producer Angie debated this hot topic earlier this morning:

“In today’s day and age of parenting, somehow, you gotta do what you gotta do,” Carson said. “It’s not easy to get through to teenagers especially and you know what? I’m all for it. I’m a firm believer in, ‘You came to live with me. I didn’t come live with you.'”

“But she’s calling her kid names online! She’s not naming the kid or anything, so I get it, but she couldn’t say that to her face?” Producer Angie disagreed. “So she went to The Book to do it? It just seems like that’s not the place to discipline your child.”
