Tuesday night’s MLB All-Star game was an unofficial farewell to Derek Jeter, who’s retiring after 20 seasons.

CBS News took to Twitter to congratulate the legendary Yankee, but ran into an embarrassingĀ viral snafu when they accidentally butchered his name.

Instead of crediting one of the most iconic names in sports history, the tweet referred to Michael Jeter, an actor who passed away in 2003.

The news network quickly corrected itself, but the damage had already been done. Michael Jeter started trending online worldwide.

Hey, we all make mistakes, except we’re not the ones with nearly 3.2 million followers. Oops!
