What happens when you combine #ThrowbackThursday with #ToplessSummer? A whole lot of awesome hashtagging. We went down on a sunshine-filled trip through Memory Lane and unearthed some sonic gems that topped the Billboard charts the summer they came out.

Who remembers that 2pac had two hits one summer? That TLC was forever warning us not to chase waterfalls. That Disney babes, BritBrit and Xtina, dominated the charts for, like, three years in a row and Katy Perry pretty much changed the pop music with her candy-flavored kisses with 2008’s “I Kissed A Girl.”

Over the years, many things have remained true about making the perfect summer jam: 1) Be a hot girl, 2) Sing about being a hot girl (and having them take off all their clothes a la Nelly) or 3) collaborate with Jay Z.
