Eminem is giving rappers all over the world one shot to seize everything they ever wanted with his new rap battle competition league, Total Slaughter, which will hold its first event this summer in New York City.
Eminem, who got his big break battling in Detroit, told Rolling Stone yesterday (April 28) that he’s always wanted to start his own league and hopes that his involvement in this will raise the profile of battle rapping.
“I came up battling at the same time I was making records and learning my way around the studio,” he told the mag. “It’s a little bit different in terms of the kinds of tools you need, but the competitiveness is the same. The times I didn’t win gave me just as much light in the past as when I did. It’s all about your performance.”
