Seth Rogen Fights For Alzheimer’s Research During Senate Hearing

Seth Rogen and Congress…those are two things you’d never picture together, right?

Believe it or not, but the self-admitted stoner made the trek to Washington, D.C. on Wednesday to fight for an important cause near and dear to his heart: Alzheimer’s research.

The Knocked Up actor suited up for the formal subcommittee hearing, but didn’t leave his jokes behind.

“I came here today for few reasons,” Rogen testified. “One, I’m a huge ‘House of Cards’ fan. Two, people need more help. I’ve personally witnessed the massive amount of financial strain this disease causes.”

“The third reason I’m here,” he continued. “Is to show people that they’re not alone. So few people share their personal stories, so few people have something to relate to, I know that if me and my wife saw somebody like me talking about this, we would feel less alone.”

Rogen was inspired to launch his own Alzheimer’s organization, Hilarity for Charity, after watching his mother-in-law suffer from an early onset of the disease.

“That’s right, the situation is so dire that it caused me — a lazy, self-involved, generally self-medicated man child — to start an entire charity organization,” he joked.

Check out his hilarious, yet incredibly emotional speech:

Unfortunately, it seems many of our elected officials weren’t as amused as we are. Rogen publicly shamed the senators who failed to show up:

How can you help? Your donations to go towards research and families struggling to pay for proper healthcare.
