AMPLIFY 2014 Artist Spotlight: Tiësto

Tiësto is one of EDM’s most enduring international superstars with a career that spans from 1994 to today. With five studio albums and thirteen tours cataloged next to his extensive collection of trance and house music hits, Tiësto has a sound that made him the first-ever DJ to perform live at the Olympics in 2004 in addition to becoming the official worldwide ambassador for an HIV/AIDS awareness charity for teens called Dance4Life.

The Dutch dance god has had many firsts in the music world. He became the first-ever DJ to perform a solo stadium concert at the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles, the first-ever DJ to sell out a stadium concert, and the first house music DJ to have a track on mainstream radio in North America via his “Delirium” remix of Sarah McLachlan’s track “Silence.”

Over the years, Tiësto has transcended musical genres, putting out Club Life mixes and working with everyone from Kanye West, Katy Perry, Nelly Furtado, Gotye, Icona Pop, Coldplay, Passion Pit and more. Two magazines, Mixmag and Rolling Stone, named him the #1 DJ in the world. Tiësto even has his own radio show, Club Life, during Miami Music Week.

Last year, Tiësto brought his “club life” vibes to a 20-month residency at Hakkasan in Las Vegas and is working on the release of his sixth studio album, slotted for Spring of 2014. The first single off the album is “Red Lights,” but with all the popularity of the debut single so far, all we see are green lights for this veteran DJ superstar.
