AMP Radio is the first station in the U.S to play Jetta, a new artist you need to know about. She comes to us from the U.K and her booming voice is going to blast it’s way through the states in 2014, we’re sure of it.

Her single ‘Feels Like Coming Home’ is on the air right here on 97.1 FM in good ol’ Los Angeles, and we’ve also added it to our Beats Music playlist ‘Next Up: February 2014‘ which introduces you to songs we think will be smash hits next month.

She came by the station to play us a couple of songs, chat with McCabe about her music, what she has planned for 2014, and of course, the fact that she plans to do a show one day in space. Yup, you read that right.

She’s often compared to Adele, which she happily accepts and is so humble in her answer about how it makes her feel.

The title track off of her EP, ‘Start a Riot,’ was released not too long ago and is already doing well among fans.

“It was inspired by a group of friends I had when I was a teenager. We would literally run off into the night together….it was just kind of like a rocker sense of adventure. We felt like we could do whatever wanted. There were no rules at that point. And I guess the whole idea of the EP, the idea of running WITH your fears and not from them is what the body of work has turned into.”

And of course, we had to dive deeper into understanding her radio single ‘Feels Like Coming Home.’

So what does the singer/songwriter think of our city?

“I think because I was having a good time, it was a positive experience. My first trip here was a song writing trip, which was obviously a really exciting for me. I met a lot of really great people who were all into the same things.”

And finally, perhaps our favorite part of the entire interview? When she admitted to wanting to gig in space.

She left us with an amazing performance of ‘Start A Riot’ which we feel you definitely need to see right now.
