Carson Daly Pays Tribute To Jenni Rivera One Year After Her Passing

It seems hard to believe, but it’s been one year since the passing of our good friend, Jenni Rivera.

The Mexican-American singer, who was in the midst of launching her English crossover career, died in a tragic plane crash over the mountains in Mexico.

According to results recently released by Mexican aviation officials, investigators believe her 74-year-old pilot’s age and the condition of the 43-year-old Learjet are to blame.

There were no survivors. Jenni’s publicist, lawyer, hairdresser and makeup artist, and two pilots were also on board.

In honor of Rivera’s life, Carson replayed the tribute we put together the day after her death in 2012.

Rivera’s newest album, 1969-Always Live From Monterrey Part 1, goes on sale tomorrow. The record includes recordings from her final concert at Monterrey Arena, the day before she died.

The Latina superstar has sold more than 15 million records and was the first first female regional Mexican artist to sell out STAPLES Center in September 2011.

Rivera’s success included much more than just her music career. She also filled her time with her extremely successful mun2 reality show, I Love Jenni, and owned several businesses.

Jenni was born and raised in Long Beach by immigrant parents and is survived by her five children and two grandchildren.
