The news of Paul Walker’s passing last weekend was a heart-breaker, to say the least.

I wasn’t all that familiar with The Fast & The Furious franchise, having only watched one of the films, but it was very good.

I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but was aware of Paul from the surf community as he was a big surfer and he was also part of Producer Angie’s top 5 hottest guys list.

After doing a bit more reading on Paul, I had already known he was a Southern California native who graduated from Sun Valley’s Village Christian School, but what I also learned was that he had a passion, much like surfing, for marine biology. He got to fulfill his dream of marine biology in a National Geographic series titled “Shark Men,” spending 11 days as part of a crew catching and tagging great whites.

In the last few days, we’ve also learned how charitable he was. He did most of it away from the spotlight, not in search of recognition for his humanitarian work, but doing it just for the simple reason to help others. Out of that love for helping others he created Reach Out Worldwide, which is an non-profit organization dedicated to creating life-long humanitarians.

On to today’s Viral Video of the Day. A story came out this week about an act of generosity from Paul in which he decided to help out a young couple in love.

It’s pretty touching and speaks highly of the character of the late humanitarian and is worth sharing if you haven’t already heard about it.

Paul Walker may have left us too soon, but his legacy lives on through his non-profit, Reach Out Worldwide.

Also, proceeds from Fast & Furious 6 DVD sales will go towards his foundation.

“When you put good will out there it’s amazing what can be accomplished.” – Paul Walker

His Fast and the Furious family also released a tribute video to Paul this week.

Surfer Stephen posts a brand new viral video every week day just for you! Catch up on some of his old favorites below:
