Celebrate Halloween In Los Angeles!

Here at AMP Radio, we’re keeping busy putting the final touches on our costumes in anticipation for our Halloween Masquerade tomorrow night.

We’re really feeling the spooky spirit and luckily for us, there are tons of local events the next couple of weeks to celebrate the season.

Carson and Producer Angie ran through some of the highlights earlier this morning.

Hollywood Halloween Pub Crawl: If you’re over the age of 16, trick or treating isn’t really an option anymore. However, if you’re over 21, then drinking is usually more fun anyway. There are plenty of drink specials to go around, so expect a lot of debauchery and inappropriate costumes.

When: October 25, 5pm-10:30pm; October 26, 2pm-11pm; October 31, 5pm-10:30pm

Where: Check in at Outpost Hollywood, 1624 N. Cahuenga Blvd, Los Angeles CA 90028

Admission: $10 for one day or $15 for a three-day pass. Check out Goldstar.com for discount tickets.

Underwood Family Farms Fall Harvest Festival: If you’re looking for a family friendly event, this is the spot to be. Take the kids on tractor-drawn wagon ride, navigate your way through the corn maze & hay pyramids, and get up close and personal with nature at the Animal Center. Plus, get your hoedown on with live bands and pig races!

This weekend is the All About Pumpkins extravaganza, which features live entertainment from 10:30am-5:30pm.

When: September 28-October 31; 9am-6pm

Where: 3370 Sunset Valley Road Moorpark, CA 93021

Admission: $3/person Monday-Friday, $12/person Saturday & Sunday. Children under 2 years old are free.

Long Beach Zombie Walk: If you’re looking for something a little more off-beat, then the Long Beach Zombie Walk should fit the bill. It’s an all-day zombie loving festival, which includes a “contamination zone,” concert, and a screening of Shaun of the Dead.

A Thriller dance mob will perform at 7 pm, then the actual Zombie Walk takes place from Marina Green across to Rainbow Harbor.

If you want to go all out, makeup artists will be charging $20 for authentic zombie makeovers beginning at noon in Shoreline Village.

When: October 26; 2pm

Where: Downtown Long Beach

Admission: $15 general admission

Silverlake Great Pumpkin Festival: There’s plenty of activities, including live music, crafts, a bounce house, and a haunted house, to keep you busy at this Silverlake event. Yo Gabba Gabba’s DJ Lance Rock will be holding it down for a set and members of Foo Fighters and Pearl Jam will also be performing.

Proceeds go towards funding the school’s arts education instruction, school field trips, after-school classes, school garden and technology resources.

When: October 26; noon-5pm

Where: Micheltorena Elementary School, 1511 Micheltorena St, Los Angeles, CA 90026

Admission: $2 for adults, kids are free.

West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval: Dubbed the “largest Halloween street party in the world,” this event attracts about a half million people each year. There will be dancing, drinking, costume contests, the famous parade, and perhaps a surprise or two.

Last year, Rihanna was crowned Queen of the Carnaval and held court for the thousands of screaming fans lining the streets of WeHo.

When: October 31; 6pm-11pm

Where: Santa Monica Boulevard from Doheny Drive to La Cienega Boulevard.

Admission: Free

Dia de los Muertos at Hollywood Forever Cemetery: And if you’re already dreading the end of the Halloween season, squeeze in a few more hours of spooky scares at the famous Hollywood Forever Cemetery Dia de los Muertos celebration. The Mexican holiday honors friends and family who have died. You can leave flowers and mementos of your own on one of the several altars.

Organizers encourage everyone to dress up in Day of the Dead attire and enjoy the live music under the Los Angeles night sky.

When: November 2; noon-midnight

Where: Hollywood Forever Cemetery, 6000 Santa Monica Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90038

Admission: $15 general admission. Children 8 years and under and seniors 65 and over free until 4pm.
