It’s the time of the year where we get bummed that summer is coming to an end. In a few weeks it will be cooling down and we’ll be trading in our flip-flops for a cozier pair of Ugs. Knowing that fall is coming up, we decided to throw an End of Summer Pool Party at the Viceroy in Santa Monica. And since what’s a pool party without music, we had Macklemore and Ryan Lewis rock the crowd.

It was hard to tell if the girls and guys in the audience took Macklemore’s inexpensive shopping advice, because everyone showed up looking their best. The place filled up right as the doors opened, and the crowd was having a blast on the dance floor waiting for the guys to take the stage.

The moment after Michelle, Booker & McCabe introduced the band, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis burst into one of the most energetic versions of “Thrift Shop” we’ve ever seen. There was a full band on-stage, including drums, a horn section and even the “this is f@*king awesome” chorus singer Wanz. Macklemore seems to have been performing non-stop the days leading up to the pool party. He was on-stage at The MTV Video Music Awards 48 hours before and he came to the party directly after performing on The Tonight Show.

All in all, it was a great way to put an end to another fun filled summer. We aren’t so bummed now about it getting cold now. Plus, that just means we get another chance to see Macklemore again at STAPLES Center when he comes to town on December 4th.
