And now for your geeky, but totally awesome science story of the day!

Brain surgery has become practically routine with the advancement of technology, but to celebrate UCLA Medical Center’s 500th deep brain stimulation procedure, doctors decided to try something a little out of the ordinary.

They live-tweeted the whole event and posted Vine videos, which showcased the awake patient playing the guitar during the operation!

Brad Carter, the patient, suffers from tremors brought on by Parkinson’s disease. The shaking had affected his ability to play the guitar. Watching how the brain stimulation improves his strumming is pretty darn incredible.
