The Voice Recap: Top 10 Perform

In light of the tragic news coming out of Oklahoma, The Voice took on an appropriately somber tone Monday night.

Both Blake Shelton and country duo The Swon Brothers hail from the state and were understandably shaken by news that 24 people were killed during yesterday’s monster tornado.

But as they say, the show must go on. The Swon Brothers, along with the rest of the top 10, were able to pull themselves together for an evening of particularly emotional performances.

Carson was there to witness it all go down and shared his recap this morning:

If the iTunes charts are any indication, it would appear that Danielle Bradbery and Michelle Chamuel will be safe during tonight’s elimination show. Bradbery is holding strong at #7, while Chamuel came in at a respectable #14.

With only 10 contestants left, the competition is getting particularly cutthroat, especially when it comes to the coaches!

Usher actually hid from Shakira at one point after he offered some constructive criticism to one of her contestants. At this stage, the coaches are fiercely protective of their teams.

Usher thought Michelle Chamuel, his artist, had the performance of the night and Adam thought his artists had the performance of the night!” Carson explained.

Chamuel received rave reviews for her heartfelt take on P!NK’s “Just Give Me A Reason.”

Meanwhile, Producer Angie’s favorite came from Team Adam.

“Sarah Simmons? That girl can sing!” she said.

Tonight, the bottom two vote-getters, regardless of what team their on, will get cut from the competition. Find out who gets the boot tonight at 8pm PT on NBC!
