Angelina Jolie’s brave decision to undergo a preventative double mastectomy has reinvigorated a national conversation about breast cancer.

The actress chose to get the surgery after taking the BRCA test, which revealed she had an 87% chance of getting breast cancer at some point in her life. Post-surgery, her odds plummeted to a mere 5%.

During yesterday’s morning show, Carson mentioned that many people don’t get the gene testing because it is so expensive.

Kimberly Calder, one of our loyal listeners who works for the out-patient radiology facility Orange County Diagnostics, set him straight this morning with some great advice.

Orange County Diagnostics has locations in Laguna Woods, Mission Viejo, Ladera Ranch, and one will be opening in Santa Ana early this summer.

You can call and schedule a test for yourself at (949) 462-3999 or if you have any questions, you can contact Kimberly Calder directly at
