Today, our hearts are with everyone who was affected by the Boston Marathon bombings.

In times like these, it’s difficult to put our feelings into words, but many celebrities took to TV and the internet to offer some kind words.

Late night host Conan O’Brien hails from Beantown and during a tragedy such as this, he did his best to bring some comedic relief to a grieving nation.

After explaining that his thoughts and prayers are with all the victims and their families, he added:

“That said, it is our job to do a show. We’re gonna try to entertain you the very best we can, which given our track record gives you people a 20 percent chance of having a good show tonight.”

Comedian Patton Oswalt’s emotional response on Facebook went viral within hours.

“So when you spot violence, or bigotry, or intolerance or fear or just garden-variety misogyny, hatred or ignorance, just look it in the eye and think, ‘The good outnumber you, and we always will,'” he wrote.
