Set an alarm! Mark your calendars! Do whatever you have to do to remind yourself that The Voice is back (and better than ever) starting Monday, March 25!
That’s right, season four kicks off at 8pm on NBC next week with the first installment of the blind auditions.
“Unlike the other shows out there, we’ve always known at The Voice, the real star[s] of the show are the contestants. That’s who get the emphasis. They make the show great,” he told Producer Angie. “It’s really not about our coaches.”
“I gotta say Usher, in the beginning, you know, he sits with his foot up and he’s Mr. ‘I’m not going to oversell myself,’ but then when people started to pick Adam and Blake and Shakira, all of a sudden he’s like, ‘Well you should go with me! I signed Justin Bieber!’ He pulls the Bieber card.”
“Shakira is a Columbian and she was pregnant while we were shooting, so if you could imagine the feisty-ness,” he added. “When she wanted somebody, she fought for it.”
Carson was blown away by all the new talent coming out of the woodwork for season four. Even he couldn’t help but get caught up in all the emotional moments.
“The blind auditions are always probably the most fun for me because I get to, you know, watch people’s auditions with their families in those rooms and it’s a lot of highs and a lot of lows because some people get chairs turned and some people don’t,” Carson explained. “I’m doing a lot of consoling one minute and then the next minute, I’m jumping up and down like a lunatic.”
