Here at AMP Radio, we love to let our geek flag fly and this week is no exception!

The annual Consumer Electronics Show is going down in Vegas right now and we couldn’t wait to hear all about the latest and greatest in technology.

Carson called up KTLA tech reporter Rich DeMuro to get the full scoop…take a listen to his highlights!

There’s nearly 20,000 new gadgets debuting this weekend. It’s practically like a scene straight out of James Bond!

“I love the NFC stuff, Near Field Communications,” DeMuro told Carson Wednesday morning. “We’ve all gotten used to this Bluetooth deal where we pair stuff up, but pairing things is a pain, so there’s NFC where you tap your phone to something and it automatically transfers…It really is going to be the next frontier.”

DeMuro got to play around with a Sony TV that automatically displays everything on your phone right to the TV screen with just a simple tap!

It’s also getting a lot easier to share your pictures and videos with your friends and family.

“What we’re also seeing is pretty much every gadget now has a built-in internet connection, so even when you take a picture on a regular camera, you know, point and shoot…or a camcorder, somehow it’s uploading it to the web or uploading to Dropbox or Facebook.”

The biggest trend is year is Ultra HDTVs and DeMuro says the picture quality blows away what we’re watching in our living rooms right now.

“It’s four times the resolution, so they are making pictures that are so clear, it looks like you’re looking through a window.”

Kickstarter, an online platform where you can donate money for ideas and products, is responsible for funding several gadgets at this year’s CES.

“One of the biggest anticipated Kickstarter projects is Pebble, which is this watch that connects to the iPhone and Android phones. It really does some cool stuff. It shows you who’s calling, it shows you your text messages, you can dial out from it. It’s like a watch from the 21st century. That thing raised like $10 million on Kickstarter overnight because people were so excited.”

You can keep track of Rich’s CES reports at his website.
