In case you haven’t noticed, we’ve taken a bit of a break from Food Truck Friday, however, we found one supporting a really great cause, so we couldn’t help but indulge ourselves one more time!
The lovely crew from Tainamite braved the rain to show off their unique blend of Taiwanese and Vietnamese home style cooking.
Owners Michael and Jennifer, who are also married to each other, brought a huge spread of their finest food for Carson to sample:
Michael and Jennifer got their start in the food truck business like so many others. When the economy took a downswing, the company Michael was working for relocated to Florida.
The couple decided to remain here and when planning their next business venture, they thought about how much they enjoyed going to First Fridays at Abbot Kinney.
“Wouldn’t owning a food truck be an awesome idea? It looks so much fun!” Jennifer told AMP Radio.
And with that, Tainamite started rolling around on the streets of SoCal in July of 2011.
They describe their food as a fusion of three elements: Taiwanese, Vietnamese, and dynamite. Why did they decide to pursue that avenue? Well, Jennifer is Taiwanese, Michael is Vietnamese, and they strive to provide dynamic food and service to their customers.
And while both are Asian cultures, their flavor profiles are worlds apart.
“The dishes don’t clash, so I think that’s why we’re able to offer a good selection,” Jennifer said.
The menu features a variety of noodles, wraps, pho, fried rice, and bao, giving you plenty of options to satisfy your appetite.
Tonight, Tainamite is supporting a great cause. They will be attending the St. Bernardine of Siena School Food Truck Fundraiser from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. It takes place at 6061 Valley Circle Boulevard in Woodland Hills.
A $5 donation per family (up to 6 people) is required to get into the event and then food costs extra. A portion of all food truck sales will go to St. Bernardine’s 8th grade class
AMP Radio will be there bumping the tunes and handing out swag, so make sure to come out and support the kids!
