This year, Black Friday was bigger than ever as thousands of you lined up outside Target, Best Buy, Walmart, and other big stores in hopes of snagging a sweet deal on this season’s most-coveted gifts.

Many retailers even opened their doors on Thanksgiving night for those who wanted to get a head start on their holiday shopping.

Carson wasn’t camping out like some of you, so he wanted to know what all the fuss was about. He asked our loyal listeners to call in with their Black Friday stories and you all were more than happy to share!

Denise from Moreno Valley braved Black Friday madness for the first time this year. She only grabbed a few DVDs and CDs from Target, but that’s because she gets most of her shopping done online.

“They do the whole free shipping thing,” she told Carson. “You save gas, you don’t have to go to the actual store. You save time.”

Chloe in Irvine pulled in a huge haul after spending four and a half hours at Walmart. She scored a 32-inch LCD HDTV for only $130!

It was a team effort. Chloe made friends with the strangers in line and they agreed to divide and conquer. As soon as the sales started at 8 p.m., they each went to a different section in the super store and grabbed enough door busters for everyone. Then, they all met up again in the same spot and divided it amongst the whole group.

Josie in Lakewood camped out at Best Buy for six days. Her family went home with a couple of TVs, some laptops, a PlayStation 3, and an XBox…and she didn’t even have to miss Thanksgiving dinner! Her sister brought a huge feast to her crew while they waited in line.

“It’s a tradition for us,” she explained. “The kids love it.”

For those of you who didn’t break the bank shopping over the weekend, there’s always Cyber Monday. Here are just a few of the deals going around:
