Things are officially getting serious on The Voice.

The finals have begun and this time, the coaches have no say in who advances to the next round of performances.

It all depended on America’s vote and Tuesday night, two contenders were eliminated from the competition.

Carson was in the middle of it all yesterday and has a full recap of the nerve-racking episode.

Take a listen below:

It was an important day for coach Christina Aguilera. She released her album Lotus and debuted one of her new tracks, “Make the World Move,” in a live performance with Cee Lo Green.

“You know what was fun?,” Carson said. “Christina did her new song with Cee Lo, it’s like a club track, but that was a good way of opening the show.”

Cee Lo also took to the stage to sing disco hit “Stayin’ Alive” with his team and Blake Shelton joined his crew for a performance of “Life Is A Highway.”

But it wasn’t all fun and games. One by one, Carson announced who had been saved by America. When only a few were left on stage, many people worried that favorites like Amanda Brown had received a low amount of votes.

Carson clarified this morning that except for the bottom two, the order in which he read off the names had nothing to do with how many votes they each racked up.

“That wasn’t the bottom four,” he said. “There was no rhyme or reason. There was no order. It’s just the final two that left were the ones that had the least amount of votes.”

Needless to say, it was a tension-filled night, which led to one hilariously unpredictable moment. Some of the journalists covering the singing competition told Carson that Cee Lo dropped the F-bomb at some point during the show. We never heard it, but we’re on the west coast so the censors must’ve cleaned it up by the time it aired.

When all was said and done, Team Christina’s Adriana Louise and Team Blake’s Michaela Paige received the lowest number of votes, so they were sent packing.
