Some days, you’ve just got to roll up your sleeves, put on some forgiving sweatpants, and indulge in some old fashioned BBQ.

Well folks, today is one of those days.

For our latest edition of Food Truck Friday, the crew from Rancho A Go Go stopped by the AMP Radio studio to show us how it’s done…authentic “low and slow” barbecue!

Owner Chris and chef Aaron explained to Carson why they make the best BBQ in Los Angeles:

Chris and his son Brandon launched Rancho A Go Go back in November of 2010. Chis had spent nearly 30 years working in the corporate world before jumping head first into the food truck scene.

“I am a true corporate refugee,” Chris told Carson. “They wanted to throw me out the window. I wanted to go out the door, so I went out the door.”

Chris had participated in BBQ contests for years, so opening up a truck of his own seemed like a logical next step. There’s always a huge demand because as Chris puts it, “Barbecue brings people together.”

Rancho A Go Go specializes in authentic low and slow barbecue. Pulled pork, beef brisket, chipotle chicken, and grilled cheese…they’ve got it all. They’ve perfected the cooking process down to a science.

“The pork is smoked for like 16 hours,” chef Aaron explained. “We use different woods. One week we might use peach, one week we might use like hickory. The other week we’d probably use mesquite. It just varies on the way we feel that week…and then the beef goes for another 18 hours.”

Rancho A Go Go also opened a takeout location in Orange in case you can’t make it out to the truck. It’s open from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. every Friday and Saturday.

Every Food Truck FridayCarson loves to hook up our loyal listeners with a free office lunch. Congratulations to Deborah in Long Beach! She and her work buddies will be eating for free, compliments of Rancho A Go Go!

Want to take part in the Food Truck Friday fun? Make sure you’re listening to Carson every Friday morning. He brings in a new truck each week, so your next chance to win is only 7 days away!
