Techies around the world lined up outside Apple Stores bright and early last week to be the first to buy the iPhone 5, but they’re not the only ones with a shiny new gadget…we have one too!

I do all the blogging and social media for Carson’s morning show, so I felt it was my responsibility have the latest technology in my hands on Friday. Luckily since I get up so early for work every day, I was easily able to pre-order the iPhone before they sold out.

This is my first iPhone and I’m already loving it. I previously owned an Android and while the HTC Evo’s big screen is nice, it was just way too bulky, especially if you have a tiny purse! You ladies know what I’m talking about!

The battery life is also significantly better than my Evo. The charge lasts all day long, which is great since I can’t always find time to plug it into a wall.

Make sure to check out the Panorama photo feature. You don’t even need the iPhone 5 to take advantage of it, just make sure to update to iOS 6. It takes gorgeous 180-degree photos with just a click. Here’s one I took of Carson this morning in the studio:

And here’s one I took at the Hollywood Bowl…pretty sweet, right?

All-in-all, it’s a great, extremely fast phone, so if you’re an iPhone user on the fence about upgrading, update to iOS 6 first and decide whether that’s good enough or if you need the faster A6 processor and 4G LTE data speed.

As a former Android user, I am definitely not disappointed, so don’t be nervous about making the switch!
