NYC Soda Ban Explained, Sort Of: Surfer Stephen’s Viral Video Of The Day

The New York City Board of Health approved a ban on the sale of large sodas and other sugary drinks last week…the first of its kind in our country.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg proposed this measure to help curb what he sees as a national problem, obesity.

Why do you care about this, you’re asking yourself?

Well, if it makes it through litigation, Los Angeles could be next.

I personally don’t drink much soda, I don’t buy Big Gulps, and I try to be very health conscious.

We all make bad decisions with our diets, but is that our choice or should the government be making that decision for us?

I saw this short film by filmmaker Casey Neistat, which is kind of like the film Super Size Me by Morgan Spurlock and thought it was worth a look.

Pretty interesting, so check it out and decide for yourself.

I also 100% recommend Super Size Me if you haven’t yet watched it, it’s a great film and will help you clean up your diet.
