Best known for her vocals on Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know,” Kimbra just dropped the music video for her first U.S. single, “Two Way Street,” off her debut album Vows. The New Zealand based singer-songwriter takes fans on a reworked fairytale in the new clip, which shows her walking through a forest, city and movie theater as a man runs after her, trying to catch up.

The Matthew Rolston-directed clip opens with Kimbra at a mirrored vanity in a foggy forest, singing, “I’m waiting for you to walk down the boulevard/And to take me, but the moment you appear/You wake me out of the slumbers of my head from the slums of loneliness.”

Dreamy violins and chirping birds channel a modern-day Alice in Wonderland, with the singer passing through a mysterious door into an alternate, mirrored world where her suitor chases after her.

Rolston shared his excitement for the clip in a behind the scenes video saying, “I’m a very lucky man, because I’m getting to direct Kimbra’s first U.S. video.”
