Pitbull continues his music takeover today with new track “Back In Time.” The theme song to Men In Black 3, it is now available as a digital single on iTunes and is being released to radio today.

“Back In Time” begins slowly with Pitbull’s whispered vocals before the track picks up the pace. The chorus of “Love is Strange” is soon heard alongside a distinct percussion part. Never one to leave out a club vibe, Pitbull’s familiar raps and electronic beats enter as he raps, “To understand the future we have to go back in time.”

Pitbull wrote “Back In Time” for the film with Marc Kinchen, Adrian Trejo and Urales Vargas. The track features a sample of Mickey & Sylvia’s “Love is Strange,” written by Sylvia Robinson, Ellas McDaniel and Mickey Baker. The 1956 hit had a cultural resurgence when featured in Dirty Dancing in 1987.

Men in Black 3 will be released in 3D in theaters May 25.

While some question his rise to fame and endorsement deals, Pitbull sees his career as an evolution. In a recent interview with GQ, Pitbull discussed just this.

“Look, Pitbull is a product. Don’t get it f—ed up—I’m a businessman. This industry is 90 percent business, 10 percent talent. It’s the people who think they’re talented, that their shit don’t stink, who get left behind,” he said. “Two thousand nine was freedom, 2010 was invasion, 2011 was takeover, 2012 is grow wealth.”

Pitbull further detailed how he feels when fans debate his music.

“I think of fans like a barbershop. I want that debate. I want one guy to be, like, ‘Pit, he ain’t this, he ain’t that,’ and for another guy to be like— ‘Hold the f— on, partner,’ and then that first guy to be like, ‘I ain’t know he did that,’ and some other guy be like, ‘No, but did you hear this?'”
