Kelly Clarkson Joins “Duets” Singing Competition Show-

America’s first Idol is headed back to her old stomping grounds of singing competitions, but this time she’s on the other side of the stage as a judge. She will be joined by co-hosts and mentors Robin Thicke, Lionel Ritchie, and country star, Jennifer Nettles so the deck is stacked with soulful coaches.

Kelly, Robin and Lionel all acted as mentors on “The Voice” this past week;  Clarkson herself has said she is personally a fan of the show. Still, with their new show on ABC and being in the same genre as “The Voice”, they are consequently competitors.

“Duets,” like every other talent competition has its own spin. The celebrity mentors will travel the country in search of two near-perfect duet partners. Every week the stars will sing with each of the contestants in front of a live studio audience. Kelly is really excited about this opportunity and sees it as a chance to help “mold someone into whatever they want to do with their career.”

It’s a lofty goal, but Kelly’s up to the challenge. “The simple fact that I get to go out and find two people I believe in, sing with them every week and help them accomplish their dream is an amazing thing I can’t wait to be a part of,” the Idol winner said in a statement.

The grand prize is a record deal with Hollywood Records, not that it’s not a prize in itself to get to work with such genuinely, talented individuals. So however you look at it, it’s win-win. You can check out “Duets” on ABC this summer.

Usher Says It’s”Incredible” Working On New Album-

Mr. Raymond has reached an incredible point in his now decades long career. The R&B superstar is hard at work on his new album. He’s been teasing us with his latest single “Climax,” which blends the R&B and Dance genres masterfully (you can thank Diplo for that one). He isn’t tiring of the process though and has had a great time working on his latest project.

I’m not finished with it yet. I just put out one record, ‘Climax.’ But working on it has been incredible,” Usher told Vibe.  “I’m just working on some different things, and trying some different styles of music; just touching on different genres, but still keeping the soul in it.” It’s great to hear that although Usher has ventured heavily into the pop music world, he plans to pay homage to his roots in the industry.

Good news for the Urr-shurr fans that are digging his latest single, he says it’s just the tip of the iceberg. “‘Climax’ is just a small indication of what you’ve got to look forward to,” he said.

No album title or date. But he has said it will be out this year. And keep checking for Usher in an upcoming biopic. He says he’s playing “an icon.”

Katy Perry Confirms 3D Movie-

The “Part Of Me” singer is bringing her songs and her world to the big screen and it’s all going to be in 3D. There had been talk of an upcoming movie with Paramount studios, but this is the first time Katy has confirmed the project. She broke the news the same way most stars do it these days: via Twitter.

“FINALLY, my MOVIE is coming out with Paramount this summer! It’s called “KATY PERRY: PART OF ME” Presented In 3D! KATYCATS-LETS TREND #KP3D,” she tweeted.

We expect the film to feature Katy Perry concert footage, backstage, touring, practicing, hanging with friends, and the like. The film will offer an inside look into Katy’s everyday life, which includes photo shoots and red carpets of course. Katy and all her candy-coated assets will literally be jumping out the screen at you.

Make sure you bring a toothbrush to the theater, this one’s so sweet it’s liable to cause a cavity!

Color us excited!
