[photogallerylink id=148790 align=left]Katy Perry is getting back to acting. This time it won’t be skits, but you can see her (she’s pretty unrecognizable) as “Rikki”, a prison attendant, on the March 6th episode of the new FOX comedy “Raising Hope.”

Rocking a red curly, mullet-like wig, thick eyebrows, and the subtle presentation of some upper lip whiskers, you totally buy Katy as Rikki. In fact, at first glance, it’s hard to even tell it’s the “Teenage Dream” singer.

Katy dished on how she got the role. “Shannon Woodward is my best friend,” Perry said in a statement. Woodward plays the character “Sabrina” in the show. “A couple weeks ago, I was home, just toasting up a frozen chicken fillet when she called me up and asked if I wanted to do something ‘fun’ for a change and try out a guest role on her TV show.”

“I thought, ‘Sure, I have nothing else to do, and I like chillin’ with my best friend,'” she added.

Well, that sounds like a fun gig! We are happy Katy has found her own ways to move on from her marriage and still find the happiness in things.

Check the show on March 6th on FOX.

[photogallerylink id=82880 align=right] Lil Wayne has amassed quite a roster under his Young Money record label. With Nicki Minaj and Drake at the helm of the ship and acts like Tyga to usher in the new sounds of the label, they are certainly up there when it comes to the music industry. The little known fact is that Cash Money, Birdman’s label is the father label to Young Money, hence YMCMB (Young Money, Cash Money Business).

Under the larger label, Cash Money, Birdman has recently signed up a couple of veterans and we are ecstatic! [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Limp Bizkit[/lastfm], welcome to YMCMB!

The latest label pickup for the YMCMB team is none other than rap-rocking band of yore, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Limp Bizkit[/lastfm]. There have already been talks about Bizkit working with another possible new Young Money player,  [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Ashanti[/lastfm]. Both artists have had awesome runs in the music industry amassing hits like “Break Stuff,” “Nookie,” and “Always on Time,” but it’s clear that they are looking to take the next step in 2012, and that’s clearly Young Money.

This is becoming a common move for the business side of YMCMB, who also recently signed [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Busta Rhymes [/lastfm]to their label.

We can only guess that music that will come out this new merger. Bring it on. We are excited over here!

Her Minajesty has been taking a lot of flack since her theatrical performance at this year’s Grammy Awards. Since then she has released a couple tracks that could easily be considered more pop than hip hop. But the critics haven’t shaken Nicki Minaj. In fact, she still stands firmly by her new music, album and Grammy showcase.

When asked about the backlash, she first mentioned being disappointed that her fans didn’t trust her to know what she was doing. “I would hope that people know at this point that I’m smart enough to know what I’m doing all the time. But I guess they still kind of waiver. I always intended on putting out something urban after ‘Starships,’ because I knew ‘Starships’ was a monster.”

[photogallerylink id=148827 align=left] She then added, however, that she appreciates that hip hop still cares, “I didn’t feel the pressure. To be honest, I feel really, really good. I feel that Hip Hop cares enough that they have something to say. I remember when I was hoping that someone had something to say about me on the radio, or cared enough.”

After releasing the harder hitting “Roman Reloaded” single, which features Lil Wayne, she felt the need to remind others of her talent for spitting and writing fierce bars.

“Maybe it would be a problem if I couldn’t deliver records like ‘Roman Reloaded,’ but I can. I write my own lyrics. Once again, I write my own lyrics. So it’s never a problem. Whatever I feel, I can write, I can create it. So I’m good. I think people sometimes get blown away by the magnitude of the pop stuff, because the pop stuff, it reaches everywhere and then I feel like my Hip Hop fans or Hip Hop culture starts getting a little bit afraid that I’m going to leave.”

She ended the conversation declaring to get on her level or go home. “But this is who I am. I’m not going to change – I’m just adding on to my brand. And if you don’t understand that, then it’s probably why you don’t travel and you don’t see the world and I probably can’t even have a conversation with you anymore.”

Well you go girl!
