[photogallerylink id=134676 align=left]Nicki Minaj has been taking a lot of flack from just about everyone for her daring yet odd (and maybe even ill-timed) exorcist-themed performance at this year’s Grammy Awards.

But she is standing by her decision to perform the song as well as present it the way she did. Good news is that Grammy producers are standing with her!

“The Grammys chose ‘Roman Holiday.’ The producers of the Grammys came to the studio and I played them ‘Roman Holiday,’ and I could not play them another record after they heard that,” Minaj revealed. “They went crazy. I could have chosen to do a no-brainer pop song, but I can’t do it anymore. I have to stay true to what I’m doing.”

Minaj also cites this as the performance where she felt “most comfortable” and it seems she credits that to getting the chance to work and, more importantly, rehearse with Madonna.

“Meeting Madonna changed my life. Working with Madonna changed my life. Rehearsing with Madonna for two weeks changed my life,” Minaj professed. “I saw how much Madonna sacrificed and how much she rehearses and rehearses and rehearses and rehearses, and everyone there was like, ‘We got it.’ But she was like, ‘No, I want you to know this choreography in your sleep.'”

In fact, the Head Barb in Charge has nothing but good memories and life-long lessons of her Half-time cameo with Madonna and M.I.A. “This performance was it and this is the first performance that I’m proud of in my entire career,” Minaj said of her Super Bowl experience.

Well it was pretty dope!

Nicki has two brand new songs out right now. “Roman Holiday” and “Starships. Check the latter below.

Beyonce (Mama Bey) is still a brand new mom and her whole world has been engulfed by her beautiful newborn, Blue Ivy, but her first love: music, has never been too far from her thoughts.

[photogallerylink id=132665 align=right]According to her songwriter on “Halo” and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]OneRepublic[/lastfm] frontman, Ryan Tedder, he’s already been sending songs about parenthood her way, noting that talks about her next album have already resumed. “I would say that that goes without saying,” Tedder told Boombox about sending the new mom songs about parenting.

“The conversations about her next album literally just started and there [are] two projects happening,” the OneRepublic frontman reveals. “All I can say is you kind of feed her the best that you have and she’s this phenomenal filter and she takes it all in.”

Much like her last album, 4, she intends to push the envelope and utilize sounds not found in the general sphere of R&B. According to Tedder, she is looking to continue trendsetting and remain current so she’s looking for not what’s hot now, but what will be hot.

“She’s not interested in 2012, [she’s interested in] what’s [going to sound good for] 2013,” he reveals. “Without question she steers the ship. [With] Beyonce, you just let her go, she’s ridiculous, she’s the best.”

It seems that no matter what, Beyonce and Jay-Z can’t stay away from the music. It’s just who they are.

We wonder if Blue is going to find herself in music the same way her parents have. What do you think?

Adele has always been a favorite here at AMP, and up until recently, it’s been based almost entirely on her singing voice. The more we learn about her though, the more we love her. She’s as honest as any artist has ever been and she’s focused on staying true to herself, even if it’s not necessarily what her fans want to hear.

[photogallerylink id=146387 align=right]The latest Adele news to follow this trend is her declaration to “never” write another 21. “I am never writing a breakup record again, by the way,” she said. “I’m done with being a bitter witch.”

Despite sweeping her categories at the Grammy’s (six wins!), the UK singer realizes that trying to repeat history is futile and would be insincere, especially since she’s been so happy with the new boyfriend.

And that leads us still to the biggest news from Adele, which is that currently she’s not interested in making any kind of new music.

She explained her reasoning and how much time she plans to take off: “I am f**king off for four or five years. If I am constantly working, my relationships fail.”

The silver lining in this sad little cloud her break from music will, if nothing else, provide her with time to make new work.

She added, “So at least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy. And then I don’t know what I’ll do. Get married. Have some kids. Plant a nice vegetable patch.”

While she’s working on her garden and album 27 (or whatever it will be called) you can console yourself with her albums 19 and 21 respectively.

We no like.

Looks like her newest single will be “Rumor Has It,” at least that’s what’s circling around the internet..
