[photogallerylink id=144358 align=left]It seems the drama behind the Russell Brand/ Katy Perry split is being minimized in every possible way. Though the couple split up back in December, they are trying to make the break as painless as possible for one another.

For Russell Brand, that apparently means not taking the $20 million he’s legally entitled to by California law and them never signing a pre-nuptial.

According to TMZ, the final divorce papers have been filed with the court, though it won’t be official until June 30th. California law says that when a couple gets divorced that each party gets  50% of their total earnings together. While Brand is worth about 6 million, Katy made 44 million last year alone. Russell could stand to be a big winner in this awful situation but has preferred to bow out gracefully than take Katy’s money.

A source close to the couple claims “This divorce is as amicable as it gets, and Russell was a mensch [Yiddish for a good person].”

Well it seems so. Besides Katy unfollowing Russell on Twitter (you know you’ve done worse to your Exes) this has been a clean break. We obviously hope that both of these kids get back on their feet and back into the swing of things.

Katy is repackaging and adding to her stellar album Teenage Dream to release The Complete Confection and Russell is reportedly working on his memoir. Seems they both a have a lot more time to kill these days.

[photogallerylink id=133791 align=left]This year’s Grammy Awards are already promising to be a spectacular event. With performers like Adele, Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars, and now Lil Wayne and David Guetta, we can only imagine the kind of performances we can expect to see on “music’s biggest night.”

While Foster The People and Maroon 5 will help us remember music of yore with the newly reunited [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Beach Boys [/lastfm], Lil Wayne and David Guetta will help dance music take center stage at this year’s awards.

Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich has contemplated incorporating electronic/dance music into the award show for sometime now and decided that with the resurgence of the genre, now is a good time to do it. He’s planning to include a segment featuring [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Deadmau5[/lastfm], David Guetta, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Foo Fighters[/lastfm] who will perform amid 1,000 screaming fans  in a tent.

“We decided to go all out this year,” Ehrlich said of the performance . “All we’re going to try and do next week is to try and put the home audience in the middle of it. … It is more than just sitting there and watching it.”

Dance didn’t even get it’s own category until 2003 and Erhlich has always wanted to capture the immersive qualities of dance music and their fans so he held off on adding it into the show. ”I don’t know that I figured out a way to do it that felt right until now,” Ehrlich told reporters “My feeling about dance is it’s such an immersive experience for the participant, that to put it on stage … where the audience is not a part of it … I don’t know, honestly, until we came up with the idea of doing it this way, I don’t know if it ever would have worked.”

Well this sounds EPIC! We cannot wait. Grammy’s go live on CBS, this Sunday, February 12th!

Blue Ivy Carter is becoming the most famous baby ever to exist. Her famous parents, Beyonce and Jay-Z  have not only including her in some of their latest recordings but have also been looking out for her future business interests. Though only a month old, Blue Ivy Carter already has a stake in selling baby carriages and baby products (like diaper bags and baby fragrances, etc) because her parents trademarked her name!

[photogallerylink id=139388 align=left]Now before you go beating them up, it’s likely they did this to protect Blue Ivy’s name from getting associated with who and whatever owned the patent. And it was good they did because fashion designer Joseph Mbeh went and  tried to trademark “Blue Ivy Carter NYC” on January 11th, only 4 days after her birth. And then on January 20th, someone else applied to trademark “Blue Ivy Carter Glory IV.”

Both applications have since been denied citing that “the name belongs to a very famous infant” and consumers would likely assume her parents approved or endorsed the products being sold under the trademark.

Currently Beyonce’s company BGK Trademark Holdings is listed on the application for the patent of Blue Ivy’s name. Though it’s still pending, it’s likely that it will be approved because parents can legally trademark their minor children’s names.

I think they call these #richpeopleproblems.
