We’ve been literally counting down the days to season 2 of The Voice ever since season 1 ended last summer.

So after months of waiting, it’s finally here!

The NBC singing competition, hosted by our very own Carson Daly debuted after the Super Bowl last night and it did not disappoint.

This morning, Carson shared with us his favorite moments from the season premiere!

Right now, we’re in the midst of the blind auditions stage. This means coaches Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, and Blake Shelton are sitting in their big red chairs with their backs to the performers.

They have to choose who they want to advance to the next round by the sound of their voice alone.

Well let’s get right to it…what did Carson have to say about last night’s exciting premiere? Take a listen…

Country singer RaeLynn kicked off the show with a bang. The 17-year-old sang [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Pistol Annie[/lastfm]’s “Hell On Wheels.”

For those of you who aren’t country music aficionados, Blake Shelton’s wife [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Miranda Lambert[/lastfm] sang the original version. He’s usually very picky about singers who choose his wife’s songs, but RaeLynn won him over and became the first person to make it through the blind auditions.

One of the biggest surprises of the night came from classical singer Chris Mann. He took on a huge challenge, performing opera singer [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Andrea Bocelli[/lastfm]’s “Because We Believe.

Both Cee Lo and Christina turned around their chairs for him and he wisely chose to go with Christina, who’s also known for her larger-than-life vocal stylings.

Our favorite moment from last night’s episode has to be Tony Lucca’s audition. Tony was actually a former Mouseketeer alongside Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears back in the 90s, but he’s kept a somewhat low profile ever since.

He blew away the crowd with his rendition of “Trouble” and all 4 judges were battling each other to get him on their own team. He joined Team Adam, which could be a sign of good things to come. Adam was the coach of last season’s winner, Javier Colon.

Christina hadn’t seen Tony in years and didn’t recognize him all grown up, but as soon as somebody clued her in, they had an adorable reunion backstage!
