[photogallerylink id=130453 align=left][lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]J. Cole[/lastfm] has certainly made his boss, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Jay-Z[/lastfm], a pretty pleased man. The Roc Nation artist has been on the rise since his debut album Cole World: A Sideline Story struck a chord with mainstream audiences and went gold. But the accolades didn’t end there as Cole was recently nominated for this year’s Best New Artist Grammy award and a humble Jermaine was totally surprised.

“I wasn’t thinking people had seen what I had done, so I had already kind of prepared myself for the let down. But it caught me off guard,” said the North Carolina native.

He hasn’t exactly counted himself all the way out though, “It would be incredible to win. That’s an understatement … since I didn’t even expect to get nominated. But I’m not walking in there with the attitude that I’m the guy [to beat]. But if I won, I’d know why. And if I didn’t win, I’d understand.”

While it seems Cole is getting way more playing time than he expected, he did speak on why he has been staying off the sidelines this go round, I don’t think it was one thing” he told reporters. “I think it was a combination of putting out quality projects like mixtapes that sounded like albums. We only call them mixtapes because they are free. And I’ve been touring for two and a half years straight. I just put the album out two months ago. I already had a strong foundation of fans, I just wasn’t sure that they would buy the album.”

Well, we did. And it was amazing. In fact bossman Jay only had great things to say about his North Carolina prodigy. For him, Cole’s success has been more than adequate and noted that in his eyes “Cole already won the Grammy.”

Drizzy is on the rise hitting the platinum mark about a month after the release of his sophomore effort, Take Care. Though[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] Drake[/lastfm] has already released a few videos in support of this latest album, he insists that many of the songs need visuals to better complete his vision.

“It’s a project where I think visuals are called for, for a lot of those records,” he said. “So we’re working on definitely the ‘Take Care’ video, which we’re trying to get shot soon and a couple of other ones, too, off the album.”

[photogallerylink id=113463 align=right]But Drake isn’t going to rush the video for the title track of his album. The [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Rihanna[/lastfm] assisted duet tells the story of lovers ready to move on from their messy past and make amends in their near future together. Knowing Drake’s history with Rihanna, it’s all too perfect that the pair will be staring in the video together.

“I want to make it perfect — the best video I’ve done to date — so I’m just taking my time,” said the Toronto native.

Believe me, we will be here waiting. Can’t say how patiently, but definitely waiting!

[photogallerylink id=81871 align=right]When you are [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Diddy[/lastfm], you can do a number of things that most people can only dream about. But what Diddy excels at is something that most people do or at least try to do every day of their lives: make money. The hip hop mogul has spawned an entire way of life based on his Bad Boy record label, and at each turn you can bet that you’ll be able to own a piece of the enterprise. His next business venture is a variation of his already expanding Ciroc Vodka brand. So Diddy headed down to Mexico to research the art of making tequila.

After announcing that he had “huge announcements” for the new year Diddy said “The only other thing I can tell you that I am working on is I have been spending some time in Mexico learning about the art of tequila. I’m a huge tequila fan.”

Though Mr. Combs has recently added to his label’s roster with Cleveland rapper [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Machine Gun Kelly[/lastfm] and Bronx rapper[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] French Montana[/lastfm], he personally is transitioning away from music and this endeavor is a clear indication of that fact. “I’m looking forward to 2012; it’s a huge transition for me out of music onto the big screen and continuing my legacy as a producer.” He iterated.

But being that Diddy is always going to be Diddy he concluded on to speak on some of his other accomplishments, not to brag though, obviously. “You know, I’m one of the most successful African-American television executive producers in history,” he continued “I’ve had six shows on the air at one time. I don’t say that in a braggadocio way. But you should definitely remember this conversation and look back at it and say, ‘I remember he told me he was going to make some huge announcements.'”

We got it, Diddy. We got it. Now bring us drinks!

This is one from when we still called him[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] Puff Daddy[/lastfm]…
