[photogallerylink id=99685 align=left][lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Britney Spears[/lastfm] may have had one of her best years since she first told us to “Hit Me Baby, One More Time.” The Louisiana born pop star turned 30 this year, which for some women marks the beginning of the end but for Brit, the year seemed to recharge her career.

She released her very successful album Femme Fatale and then took the show on the road during a worldwide tour. While stateside, the pop royalty shared her stage with the lovely [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Nicki Minaj[/lastfm]. In fact, the tour did great. It pulled in 37 million and sold out almost half of the shows. Even Jersey Shore star, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]DJ Pauly D [/lastfm]was able to get in on the action accompanying the singer on select dates.

Then when Brit probably thought she could let the new year roll in without a fuss, boyfriend and former manager, Jason Trawick popped the question and made it official between them. They celebrated their engagement in Las Vegas and while no plans have been made for the wedding, something tells us the singer will want to go low key.

Britney wanted to make sue all her fans had the chance to see her Femme show so she recorded it with help from EPIX and released the DVD in late November.

As for 2012, Britney will probably prepare for her wedding and try to get in as much time with her two boys and new fiance’ as humanly possible. Sounds like a way to be.

So when should we expect our invites?

This year dance music came back with a vengeance and much of it is thanks to one man: [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]David Guetta[/lastfm]. The French DJ was named DJ Magazine‘s Best DJ of the year, a title well deserved being as the super producer and hit maker helped bring back a whole genre from the underground.

With help from a few A-list collaborators, Guetta’s album Nothing But The Beat fused traditional pop with dance and made music we love to hear on the radio. His songs wth [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Usher[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Nicki Minaj[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Ludacris[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]will.i.am[/lastfm] and others are all different and unique while still all having that Guetta flair that makes us want to listen again and again.

[photogallerylink id=107474 align=right]He currently has several hit songs in our rotation including the brand new “Turn Me On” featuring Minaj. And to top it all off, Guetta was presented with the honor to lay hands in wet cement at the famed Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. It marks the first time a non-actor had the privilege in the history of the tradition and was the beginning of a segment that will honor musicians at the theatre for a specific period of time.

The DJ also made his mark commercially, teaming up with [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dr. Dre[/lastfm] for Beats headphones specific to DJs and DJing. Seems help from one of the best is a good way to go. And we can believe that!

Guetta is a Grammy nominated musical prodigy that has helped shape the musical landscape of this year and beyond. 2011 wouldn’t have been the same without him.

We can only wait for what he has in store for us next year.

[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lil Wayne[/lastfm] has been the epitome of the “comeback kid” this year after spending most of 2010 incarcerated at Rikers Island in New York for gun charges. Immediately after his release the Young Money founder and President got back to recording and finished his 9th solo studio album, Tha Carter IV.

Weezy hit gold, no make that platinum, with his super successful album that sold almost one million copies of the album in only one week.

Before the album came out in late August of the year, Wayne had claimed the song of the summer with his smooth Auto-Tune jam, “How To Love” and lit the club up with his [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Cory Gunz[/lastfm] assisted track, “6 Foot 7 Foot.”

[photogallerylink id=95652 align=left]Wayne also made it a point to stack paper this year with help from his Young Money family. Though the I Am Music II tour was only slated to hit 24-cities from March to May, the show which featured a number of guests on each leg including [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Nicki Minaj[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Rick Ross[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]blink-182[/lastfm] drummer, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Travis Barker[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Keri Hilson[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Far East Movement[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lloyd[/lastfm], lasted until about mid-September.

Overall, he earned 47 million from the tour alone. But Lil Wayne didn’t just focus on his success this year, the New Orleans native also helped propel his Young Money artists into great years also. Under his lead, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Drake [/lastfm]has done great with his latest album, Take Care, which Weezy took a hands off approach towards and his leadership also allowed Nicki Minaj to take over the pop world, one Barb at a time.

2012 promises to be a landmark year for Wayne and his company of artists who will be putting out a label compilation album sometime next year in addition to a slew of solo albums from the camp.

Wayne has slated his next album, I Am Not A Human Being to come out in 2012 as well, but the “A Milli” rapper wants to make sure the artists under him get their work in first. With only 6 years left in the game, he’s got big plans for 2012. That includes his new skater centric clothing line, Trukfit. But right now, Weezy is going out with a bang on an international tour with equally amazing rapper, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Eminem[/lastfm].

Pretty soon it’s going to start raining Young Money out there, make sure you grab an umbrella.
