Since [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Britney Spears[/lastfm]’s good news about getting engaged to long time boyfriend and former manager, Jason Trawick, Brit’s exes have been asked how they feel about this new chapter in Britney’s life. First off, it’s always a good thing when the people you were closest to in your past wish you all the best in your future, the same is not true for those that don’t.

Key in on Britney’s first and second husband’s Jason Alexander, who wed Britney for 44 hours in Vegas on a whim, and Kevin Federline who infamously left his pregnant girlfriend to start a family with Britney for about 2 years back in 2007

While Federline has reportedly been nothing but happy for Britney, “I’m really happy for her,” Federline told reporters “I think [Jason’s] a great guy. She’s happy; she’s doing really well. I want to say she’s in a good place. I haven’t spoken to her much since I’ve been over here, both of us have been busy with her being on tour, but I do know from talking to the kids and talking to the kids’ teachers that they’re doing really good. [Marriage’s] a good step in the right direction. I’m totally happy for her.”

Her first hubby, Jason Alexander is convinced the whole ordeal is fake and just a way to get Britney out of the conservatorship of her father. “I know everyone wants me to be happy about this, but I am not,” Alexander told Us Weekly. “I think it’s fake and I think people are afraid to say it.”

He then continued on about their chemistry, or lack thereof, “If you look at all the pictures between them there is no connection,” he added. “They look like they are going through the motions.  It seems like a[n] answer to the court thing,” he said.

Remember, this is the guy from some of Britney’s most unstable years. And he married her in Vegas for 44 hours. That’s not even two whole days. Talk about the pot calling the kettle “black”!

We happen to think, like Kevin, that this is a step in the right direction for Brit-Brit. And for anyone doubting Trawick’s connection to Britney, just watch the “Criminal” video. If that isn’t chemistry, then what is?

“Criminal” Britney Spears

  • Do you think Alexander is right on the money or way off base about Trawick and Spears? Is the engagement faked?

rihannalayed AMP Music Minute: Rihanna Responds To Racial Slur Via Twitter & More!

Lately, it seems like [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Rihanna[/lastfm] just can’t catch a break. The Roc Nation artist has recently had an ongoing battle with her health as of late causing her to cancel shows, and run off stages.

But on top of that, the singer has also had to encounter the bad attitudes and ignorant humor of others on what seems like a daily basis as of late.

Dutch fashion magazine, Jackie, had the audacity to call Rihanna a racial slur in their latest publication and then later called it a joke when Rihanna and others were up in arms about the inappropriateness of the story.

Along with calling Rih Rih “the ultimate n*****b*tch,” the publication also falsely reported that the singer, who hails from Barbados, was from Jamaica.

A perturbed Rihanna unleashed her displeasure on Twitter, going way over the allotted 140 characters (Thank goodness for TMI.)

[photogallerylink id=107575 align=left]”@evajackie I hope u can read english, because your magazine is a poor representation of the evolution of human rights! I find you disrespectful, and rather desperate!! You ran out of legit, civilized information to print! There are 1000’s of Dutch girls who would love to be recognized for their contributions to your country, you could have given them an article. Instead, u paid to print one degrading an entire race! That’s your contribution to this world! To encourage segregation, to mislead the future leaders to act in the past! You put two words together, with the intent of abasement, that made no sense…”N**** B*TCH”?!…. “Well with all respect, on behalf of my race, here are my two words for you…F**K YOU!!!” She wrote.

The editor-in-cheif of the magazine, Eva Hoeke, quickly sent out a message on Facebook addressing the readers and Rihanna’s concerns but never apologizing exactly “First: thanks for all your responses. We are of course very fed up over this and especially very shocked. However I’m glad that we’re engaging in a dialogue on this page — not everybody does that. Thanks for this. Other than that I can be brief about this: this should have never happened. Period,” Hoeke wrote. “While the author meant no harm — the title of the article was intended as a joke — it was a bad joke, to say the least. And that slipped through my, the editor-in-chief’s, fingers… We make our magazine with love, energy and enthusiasm, and it can sometimes happen that someone is out of line. And then you can only do one thing: apologize. And hope that others wish to accept it. From the bottom of my heart I say it again: we never intended to offend anyone. And I mean that.”

Not good enough. Rihanna has every right to be livid. Not cool, Dutch magazine, not cool at all. Hours after the story broke, Editor -in-Chief, Eva Hoeke resigned her post. She oversaw the publication for 8 years.

We recently had Auto-Tune crooner, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]T-Pain[/lastfm] in our AMP/Red Bull Soundspace. During his interview with McCabe, Teddy P spoke on the differences between Auto-Tune and his new audio tool, The T-Pain Effect, which is available for sale. Also during his TinyChat at AMP, he was unfortunately accosted by an online hater, who joined the chat only to diss the Florida native with a sign that read “T-Pain Killed Hip-Hop.”

[photogallerylink id=134424 align=left]Teddy was super cool about the situation, not taking the haters to heart, but it got us thinking that T-pain is one artist that does have a good number of haters out there. In a recent interview with Rap-Up TV, the nappy boy took time to explain why he thinks he sometimes gets no love. “People feel like what I’m doing is easy,” he said. “They feel like you don’t have to write a good song to have a smash.”

TP even went as far as comparing his plight to Jersey Shore star, Snooki, “How many people hate Snooki? Snooki’s rich. [They] ain’t saying nothing about that. She got rich for being Snooki, but she rich and you can’t do nothing about it ’cause you sitting at home blogging about how much you hate somebody that’s rich.”

We definitely understand T-Pain’s frustration, but his analogy seems a little misguided. He, very much unlike Snooki, became famous for being a talented and unique musician. Snooki made her money showing her hoo-haw on national TV. Similar, but different. Still, TP has a point in that haters don’t affect the bottom line.

The “I’m Sprung” singer even spoke on how [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Jay-Z[/lastfm]’s anthem to end Auto-Tune, “D.O.A,” a seemingly bad thing for TP, actually helped secure T-Pain’s place in pop culture history. “The crazy thing is, and a lot of people don’t see it like this, but if you really look at it, he made me famous,” he explained. “A lot of people see this as a bad thing, but it only made me more famous because no one knew who he was talking about. If I can be in Jay-Z’s category at the end of the day, I am fantastic. I love it.”

rEVOLVEr is in stores now.
