A very big congratulation goes out to Pop Royalty, Miss or should we say Mrs. [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Britney Spears[/lastfm]-Trawick. Only a week or so after turning the big 3-0, Brit Brit bought her long-time boyfriend, Jason Trawick a really awesome motorcycle for his 4oth birthday. To say thank you, among other things, he asked her to marry him. AND SHE SAID YES!
[photogallerylink id=106985 align=left]As a long-time Britney fan, we feel like we’ve been riding the rollercoaster that is Britney’s life right along with her, albeit with pen and camera in hand, but with her nonetheless. We couldn’t be more excited for the Femme Fatale mom of two.
Britney decided to share the great news with her fans via cryptic tweets but sources surrounding the couple have been all too eager to spill the beans. “OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I’ve been waiting for,” she tweeted “Can’t wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo”
Given that Britney is still under her father’s conservatorship, Trawick asked for and received his permission to formally relate with his daughter. The two have also agreed on a prenuptial agreement.
“This is something they’ve both wanted for a long time,” the source told TMZ, who first broke the story. “It’s a way to cement their family. They’re both extremely happy and can’t wait to become man and wife.”
The celebrating is to take place in the U.S. capital of partying, Las Vegas. Congrats again to Brit Brit and her man!

[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lady Gaga[/lastfm] is probably going to have to dedicate an entire room to the awards and accolades that she has received since crashing onto the scene just a few years ago.
This year, she tops Forbes list for highest earning women musicians. Between May 2010 and May 2011, the measuring period for the publication’s numbers, Mother Monster pulled in an astounding 90 million dollars. And not one cent of that includes sales from her Born This Way album because it was released too late in May to count.
Other AMP artists make the list but the closest competitor only made half of Gaga’s earnings for the year.
Coming in at a not even close second is teen sensation, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Taylor Swift[/lastfm], who earned an impressive 45 million during the evaluation period. [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Katy Perry[/lastfm] comes in at No. 3 with 44 million.
Much of her earnings came from her near constant touring during the year, Gaga spent much of her year on the road with the Monster Ball concert and album sales for The Fame Monster, which is 5-time platinum and counting.
[photogallerylink id=132223 align=left]Both [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Beyonce[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Rihanna[/lastfm] have had outstanding years as well topping off the top 5 for the year. And while [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Adele[/lastfm] is near the bottom at No. 9 with only 18 million, expect a much more productive year for the Brit next time around because her album had only been on sale for 5 months when counting ended for the year. Since May of this year, Adele’s breakout album, 21, has literally exploded into the mainstream and assured her a position in the hall of fame of pop music.
Forbes divulged their counting methodology so we’d better understand their numbers, “Our numbers encompass all pretax income earned from May 2010 to May 2011, before subtracting agent and manager fees. The totals were compiled with the help of data from Pollstar, RIAA and others, as well as extensive interviews with industry insiders including lawyers, managers, concert promoters, agents and, in some cases, the musicians themselves.”
Basically, don’t expect Gaga to be holding 90-mil walking into a mall or anything. These numbers are before taxes, fees, etc. Still, all of these stars did pretty well for themselves. Unfortunately, however, only 5 of the women on this list were among the top 25 musician earnings, which include 13 male acts and 7 bands. Just saying.
If you had to paint a picture of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lil Wayne [/lastfm]these days, the clothes you would put on him would be a far cry from his days in the [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Hot Boys[/lastfm], when he wore pants that his whole body could fit in and T-Shits that literally went down to his knees.
But the baggy 90’s are long gone and luckily clothes aren’t near as shiny as they were at the turn of the century, so where does that leave Weezy? Well, rocking Vans and skater pants, duh!
The ever enterprising Young Money president has announced yet another business venture and this time it’s a brand new clothing line geared towards skaters.
[photogallerylink id=82880 align=left]Ever since Weezy hit it extra big with his platinum selling records, Tha Carter 3 and Tha Carter 4, Lil Tunechi has been all about reliving the childhood he missed out on. If that means building a half pipe in his backyard, so he can get extra practice in when he’s home, he’ll do it.
If that means bringing along an extra truck on his tour caravan just to house his ramp and skate parts, he’ll do it.
So when Wayne thought about it, of course it made sense to really take on his new role as a Sk8er Boy. So he presents, Trukfit, a moderately priced bold line of clothes that appeals to urbanites and skaters.
You can expect to see these new duds on your shelves right after the New Year. The line will be available at the end of January.
Promotion for the line hasn’t gotten underway too heavy just yet, as Wayne and much of his Young Money team are on tour both overseas and domestically right now.
