[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Flo Rida[/lastfm] may be dancing up the charts with his latest song “Good Feeling”, but we just hope he can keep up the sentiment when working towards the plea deal he agreed to for his DUI arrest in Miami this past June.

While driving in his Bugati last summer the Southern rapper was reportedly swerving on the road and was subsequently pulled over. He then failed the “walk the line” sobriety test and had a blood alcohol level that was twice the legal limit.

Upon successful completion of DUI classes and community service, the DUI charge will be downgraded to Reckless Driving. These provisions are common for first time offenders.

Let’s hope this is a one-time deal for the Flo. Keep your head up.

“Good Feeling” has been topping our Daly Download chart for awhile now. See who else made the list here.

[photogallerylink id=118220 align=right] The biggest new band from Los Angeles has to be [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Foster the People[/lastfm]. Their breakout hit of the year “Pumped Up Kicks” had people bobbing their heads and dancing to the seemingly upbeat track for months before anyone took time to notice the disturbing lyrics and serious topic of the song.

The group sailed through the year on the heels of the catchy tune and landed themselves on MTV‘s Best Songs of 2011 list at No. 7. And now they have announced a US tour that of course stops right here in their own hometown.

Next summer, June 30th, to be specific you can see the band that everyone keeps talking about at Gibson Amphitheatre. No doubt they’ll perform their hit song, “Pumped Up Kicks.” Front man, Mark Foster even admits that they didn’t know the song had such potential “We like the song, but we had no idea it would spread around the world the way that it has,” said Foster.

Though the formula for the song was a little unorthodox, it certainly paid off. The topic is serious, and relevant, “‘Kicks’ is really about bullying, and the tragedy that bullying produces … if that kid retaliates in a nasty way; both sides end up being harmed,” Foster told reporters. The light melody contrasts heavily with the dark overtones of the lyrics; It’s a masterpiece some would say.

“I like to tell a different type of story, lyrically, than what the music is expressing, because it brings another layer to the story itself,” he added. “I wrote it a block away from the beach, and I was working at a music house — Mophonics, a place where I composed for ads and stuff — and I think that had some influence on the sound.”

Whatever it was, it worked! Tickets are on sale today!

[photogallerylink id=126264 align=left][lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Taio Cruz[/lastfm] is a success no matter how you cut it. The international pop singer has been a very real factor on radio and in pop music since exploding on the American scene in 2010 with his hits “Break Your Heart” and “Dynamite.”

He’s worked with some industry heavyweights and talented musicans like [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Ludacris[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]David Guetta[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]RedOne[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Travie McCoy[/lastfm], and lately [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Flo Rida[/lastfm] on his latest single “Hangover.”

Cruz has traveled the world performing his infectious dance tunes, made music videos, he’s living the life. But admits that it’s the down time he enjoys the most.

“The difference between my music videos and real life, there are similarities. There are fast cars, there are beautiful women and there are gorgeous locations … but it’s not every day. It’s a little bit exaggerated in the video (laughs). Generally, to be honest, I live out my fantasies by being on the stage and being in music videos. When I’m at home I tend to chill out, play video games and watch TV (laughs). So, that’s probably more of the reality to be honest.”

Fortunately Taio isn’t stingy with his secrets to success. He clues us in on the things he’s done to ensure a happy life, “I always say that, when you’re trying to reach for your dream, you should keep people around you who are honest and that you respect as well.”

He goes on to use the example of finding opinions of your work, “Ask the right people. Don’t ask someone who has a terrible ear whether your music is good, you should ask someone who has had hits whether your music is good. If they give you positive reinforcement, that’s a good thing. Then I think it’s something to pursue.”

He concluded his advice with ideas that you have probably heard your whole life, but still hold so much validity. “you just have to keep going,” he says “and you just have to keep working at your craft and I think eventually, with a high level of drive, you’ll succeed. I did.”

Don’t miss Taio Cruz at our Toys for Teens event tomorrow! Click here for details.
