We’re by no means old, but we’ve been around the block a few times!

So when we saw this great Mental_Floss blog about obsolete sounds that this younger generation will never hear, we couldn’t help but make a few additions to the list.

Which sounds reminded us of the good old days? Find out when you keep reading!

Rotary Phone: Heck, even corded phones in general are becoming a thing of the past!

Manual Typewriter: Hipsters have been known to rock the typewriter for nostalgic purposes, but computer keyboards are the only typing sound you’ll hear nowadays.

TV Network Sign Off: Back before infomercials, TV stations didn’t have any programming to play, so they would literally play black and white snow! But before going off-air, they’d do a sign-off like this one.

Dial-Up Modem: This really takes us back! Remember how slow it was? And our moms totally got mad at us for tying up the phone lines when we were just trying to update our LiveJournals!

Gas Station Driveway Bell: Before most places became self-serve, they needed these sensors so the attendants would know when cars came into the station. Today, badly behaved kids jump on top of them just to annoy the employees!

Pay Phones/Collect Calls: Remember payphones? Crazy, right? At least with cell phones we don’t get as many creepy collect calls like this one…

Cassette Tape Rewinding: With DVDs and Blu-Ray discs, we no longer have to be kind and rewind!

TV Channel Selector: Could you imagine having to wait for your TV to warm up? Or worse yet, having to get up out of your chair to change the channel?? Oh, the horror!

Unfolding A Map: With GPS devices, nobody uses maps these days! And in case you don’t remember how to fold them back up, here’s a super technical demonstration…

KITT From Knight Rider: This one was Carson’s personal favorite!
