musicminute 1 AMP Music Minute: Usher Working On Seventh Album, Mariah Carey Is in The Christmas Spirit, and Bruno Mars Trying to Keep Next Album Fun

[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Usher[/lastfm] has been so busy ripping his pants at concerts and making Christmas music with [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Justin Beiber[/lastfm] he almost forgot to work on his own album. But all that has just changed because the “Without You” singer is back in the studio, and the results should prove to be mind blowing!

[photogallerylink id=119338 align=left]Collaborating with some of today’s biggest hit makers, his next and seventh album should prove to be something we haven’t heard from him yet. “Right now we’re just experimenting with different sounds,” said Rico Love, who penned “There Goes My Baby” off 2010’s Raymond v. Raymond. “My job is to make sure it stays classic. I don’t feel like Usher is just a Top 40 artist or just an R&B artist or just a rhythmic artist. I gotta make records that connect to all formats.”

[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Rico Love[/lastfm] is just one of the many super producers that URRSher teamed with to work on this project. [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Jim Jonsin[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Diplo[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Pharell[/lastfm] have all reportedly spent time in studio with Usher to work on his latest project.

The new album should be out next year and promises to be out of this world, One insider who heard some of the new material Usher is working with told, “It’s the most ridiculous music I’ve ever heard Jim and Rico make. Amazing!”

Now I can’t wait. This has me more excited than when I was learning to finger spell because of Usher’s quintessential slow jam, “Nice & Slow.”

We’ve known about [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Mariah Carey[/lastfm]’s love affair with Christmas ever since she made us all fall in love with her incredible song “All I Want for Christmas is You.” Since then, many have tried but nobody will ever reach us the same way.

This year, however, Mariah has gotten back on her reindeer led sled and got back in the studio to remake her classic with a very lucky [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Justin Beiber[/lastfm]. That was just the beginning though.

Justin Beiber was lucky enough to get her to re-record with him, but it seems nothing short of magical that the two also filmed a music video to accompany their remake.

[photogallerylink id=82982 align=left]But that is still just the start of what has already been a busy holiday season for Mrs. Nick Cannon. Let’s just start calling this Mimi’s Remix Christmas (I’m coining that, you can’t have it!). The pop princess also has a remix of her 2010 holiday song coming out with G.O.O.D. music artist, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]John Legend[/lastfm]. The song, “When Christmas Comes,” get’s legendary treatment with Kanye’s first man crooner on the track.

Mimi teased the track with some tweets and twitvids, how very modern of her, so keep an eye out for Mariah’s new music. Tis the season!

The star of Doo-Wops and Holligans is clearly a little bit more Doo Wop than Hooligan but that doesn’t mean he isn’t down for a good time, which is exactly what he wants to showcase in his second album.

[photogallerylink id=104755 align=left][lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Bruno Mars[/lastfm] is ready to get back into the studio and work on his sophomore album, but he wants to enjoy his time too, “I’m kinda jonesin’ to just work,” said Bruno “We did a gig in Hong Kong—we were out there for three days—and I said, ‘I would love to just be in a studio out here.’ And I got in and I couldn’t leave, so I just wanted to start some ideas for this next album.”

For many artists, its all about the process and Bruno is no different. He wants to bring a fun element to his album, both in making and presenting it to his audience, “I want to have fun on this next album,” said the “It Will Rain” singer.

Bruno Mars also showed his more Doo Wop side when he apologized for the delay of the “It Will Rain” video. “I apologize to everybody that was waiting on this video,” said Bruno. “I take it real serious, these videos, and if it’s not right, I don’t want to put it out.”

Don’t hate on him too hard, it’s exactly that sort of perfectionism that made him the perfect candidate to be involved in the Twilight Saga in the first place.

This video looks like fun!
