This morning, we learned about an elementary school that has spent more than $200,000 outfitting all their 5-year-olds with brand new shiny iPads! Seriously?!

We knew this would strike a chord with our listeners since you guys are the ones lighting up our phone lines each and every morning for iPad Tag!

Carson wanted to find out if you all think this is a solid investment or a total waste of cash.

And you know what that means…it’s time for another good, old-fashioned morning show debate!

There’s lots of arguments for and against this one.

I mean, WE didn’t need iPads to learn how to read and write and we turned out just fine…well, for the most part!

Plus, if we had a nickel for every time those kids dropped one, we’d be rich!

But others claim this is exactly what children need in order to keep up in our world of fancy technology.

Take a look at the Washburn Elementary students in action with their brand spankin’ new iPads:

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Not gonna lie…we’re a tad jealous of these tiny tots!

Carson and Producer Angie were on completely opposite sides of the fence on this one.

He believes it’s a collosal waste of money, but Angie argued that it can be a useful educational tool.

They each stepped up on their soap box to make their case and it got a little heated! Take a listen:

Looks like we can’t settle on a final answer, so we need you to chime in. Vote in our poll!

Remember, you don’t have to be 5-years-old to score a free iPadCarson gives one away every weekday at 8:10am.

Just be caller 97 and remember the full name of yesterday’s winner and you too can enjoy the “educational” benefits. Or, you can spend every waking hour playing Angry Birds…we won’t judge you!
